My name is Kamil Maj. I am 13 years old. I am a pupil of class one of Gymnasium No. 2 (lower secondary school) in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. Two years ago I suffered from leukemia. I have already had a bone marrow transplant. The marrow donor was Wojtek, my brother. He could have easily sacrificed his life for me. After his bone marrow samples had been taken he suffered from cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated at the Emergency Ward of the Academic Teaching Hospital in Wrocław. Fortunately, everything went well. Since the transplant day, i.e. 28 July this year, I have been treated in the Grafts and Transplants Teaching Hospital in Wrocław (tel. 0-71 320 04 00). It involves frequent journeys to the Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, during the treatment some complications develop. It takes a lot of money and time to cure them.
